peerumedu is a beautiful hill station .Lying at 914 meters above sea level. Located around 85 km to the east of kottayam. The weather is so cool in Peerumedu. Peerumedu is surrounded by rich plantations of tea, coffee, cardamom, rubber and eucalyptus.
The famous plantation town takes its name from peer mohamed (Sufi Saint) ,he is a close associate of royal family of Thiruvithamkoor (Trivandrum) . The Palace ( used by Thiruvithamkoor royal family for summer vacation) is also attract the tourists.
Peerumedu is suitable for cycling,Tracking and Horse riding . Kuttikanam only 3 K M Away from here .it is in a famous spot for adventure tourism

It is very easy to reach Peerumedu . A person has to travel two hours to reach the place. Regular buses ply in the surrounding cities like Kumily and Kottayam.
