Meenmutty waterfalls

Meenmutty waterfalls is a three-tiered waterfall with a height of 300 meters.Meenmutty Falls is located 29 km from Kalpetta in Wayanad District.Meenmutty Falls, the largest and most spectacular waterfall in the Wayanad District, is a 2 km hike though the jungle from the main Ooty Road. It is Kerala's second largest waterfall and the one most unspoiled in its natural setting. Each of its three tiers requires a separate hike through a moist, deciduous forest.The path is quiet dangerous and tiresome.but the waterfalls is worth it

Nearby interesting waterfall destinations are Kanthanpara Waterfalls, Sentinel Rock Waterfall and Soochipara Waterfalls. It is well connected by road with Kalpetta. 
 
The waterfall is located at a distance of 29 kilometers from Kalpetta and 12 kilometers from Meppady.

Thusharagiri Waterfalls

Thusharagiri Waterfalls One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Malabar region of KeralaThusharagiri Waterfalls meaning the snow capped mountains.  Thushargiri exhibits a unique kinship between the land and water. The three waterfalls on the backdrop of the Western Ghats provide an exhilarating and spellbinding sight to the visitor. The waterfall with its gentle spray is sure to soothe every eye.Two streams originating from the Western Ghats meet here to form the Chalippuzha River. The river diverges into three waterfalls creating a snowy spray, which gives the name, 'Thusharagiri'. Of the three, the highest waterfall is the Thenpara that falls from an altitude of 75 metres. Situated at Kodencherry in Kozhikode district, the plantation destination that abounds in rubber, arecanut, pepper, ginger and spices is also a trekker's delight. Trekker's start early morning from the second waterfalls at the hills and climb up through the pristine dense evergreen forests teeming with exotic birds and animals to reach Vythiri and Waynad district by evening.

Thommankuthu waterfalls- Seven Step Waterfalls

Thommankuthu waterfalls is for those who love some adventure activites. 20 km away from Thodupuzha, this site draws the attention of several tourists. The waterfall is a beautiful seven-step waterfall offering pleasant weather.Thommankuthu is an eco-tourism project run by Government of Kerala in cooperation with the Forest Department of Kerala.
There are accommodation facilities available in and around the city of Thodupuzha. Hotels and restaurants are available at Thodupuzha . Thommankuthu waterfalls is one of the upcoming tourist destinations in Idukki, Kerala

Attukal Water Falls

Vazhachal Water falls

Vazhachal Water falls located 5km away from Athirappally water falls is a part of the Chalakkudy river. Both these waterfalls are surrounded by forests and is home to variety of wildlife. Usually the area is crowded with tourists.

Athirapally Waterfalls

Athirapally Waterfalls is located near chalakuday in Thrissur District. this waterfall is a popular picnic spot.Athirappally Falls is about 80 feet high and located in the forest area. The Athirapally Falls join the Chalakkudy River .Describing the scenic beauty of the waterfall in words is almost impossible.This waterfall not only is calm and peaceful but can be wild and challenging as well.

This waterfall has inspired many film makers.Some of the most popular Hindi films to have been shot here are Guru, Dil Se and Raavan, of recent fame.The Athirappilly Falls are situated on the Chalakudy river, which originates in the upper reaches of the Western Ghats. Many endangered and endemic species of flora and fauna are found in the forests of the Athirapilly-Vazhachal area. This area is the only place in the Western Ghats where four endangered Hornbill species are seen. The Western Ghats is one of the most important biodiversity hot spot in the world. This valuable natural world is already degraded by mining and hydro electric projects.
 
You are allowed to visit the waterfall only between 8 am and 6 pm.

Palaruvi Waterfalls

The palaruvi waterfalls is located 75 K M Away from kollam . The term Palaruvi – literally meaning”stream of milk” in Malayalam - is one of Keralas most picturesque waterfalls, cascading down a height of 300 feet. Access to palaruvi is 35 kilometers east of Punalur on the Quilon - Shenkottah road. It is near Ariankavu mountain pass. The water is said to be medicated as it flows down from the forest and is said to be a preventive for many diseases. The surrounding mountains ranges with blue hills and green valleys form a stunning backdrop to this waterfall. Even the journey to this waterfall is a spellbinding experience in itself.The journey to Palaruvi through the dense tropical forest is a spellbinding experience.

Bekal Fort Beach

Bekal Fort Beach is the largest fort in the state of Kerala.The beach is dotted with palm trees thus giving it an exotic feel. The Bekal fort beach in Kerala is also famous for a landmark fort known as the Bekal fort. Two huge sculptures with beautiful murals have been set up there to make it look beautiful. we can see the sculptures of Theyyam created using laterite at the beach and a shed with walls adorning murals created by artisans from Nilambur.
The Beach is about a kilometre from Bekal Fort, about 16 km south of Kasaragod on the national highway, Kasaragod district, north Kerala. 

The Mukhyaprana Temple of Hanuman and the ancient Muslim Mosque nearby bear testimony to the age-old religious harmony that prevailed in the area.

Dharmadam lsland

Dharmadam Island (Green Island) is a small 2 hectare private island in the Kannur District of Kerala, southern India. It lies 100 metres from the mainland at Dharmadam. This island, covered with coconut palms and dense bush is a beautiful sight from the Muzhappilangad beach. During low tide, one can walk out to it from the beach. Permission is required to land on the island as it is privately owned. Dharmadam, known earlier as Dharmapattanam, was a Buddhist stronghold.
Dharmadam is located 4 km from the town of Thalassery.

Muzhappilangad Beach

Muzhappilangad Beach situated 15 k  m away grom kannur. It is located parallel to National Highway.There is an unpaved road winding through coconut groves leading to the beach. It is a only drive in beach in the kerala. we can drive 4 k m here.Huge black rocks scattered here protect this long beach from the deep currents, and form a tranquil pool of shallow waters, which is a swimmer's paradise.

meenkunnu Beach

meenkunnu Beach  is a beach in Kannur district of Kerala, India. It is endowed with vast stretch of golden sand and coconut trees.Located 12 k m away from the city. Payyoli Beach

This is yet another beautiful stretch of golden sands with shallow waters that border Velliyamkallu.Payyoli Beach is also famous for the name of the great Indian sprinter P T usha. During November – December hordes of the endangered Olive Ridley turtle come to lay eggs.



Thikkodi Beach

Thikkodi Beach- Located 35 km away form kozikode city. Thikkodi is famous for a coconut nursery, which is 100 years old. The beach overlooking the Velliyamkallu Rock was much dreaded by mariners, off Mtoodadi coast. once shipwreck happened here after a ligh house was built here.  The region around the Velliyamkallu Rock is home to migratory birds

Kappad Beach (Kappakadavu )

Kappad, or Kappakadavu locally, is famous as the beach near Calicut, India, where the Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama landed on May 20, 1498.
His expedition gave the Europeans asea route to reach the wealth of the Malabar coast, and resulted in European domination of India for about 450 years. At that time Malabar was ruled by the Zamorins (Samoothiris, spoken locally) who gave a warm welcome to Gama. Malabar was abundant in spices, and produced a calico textile. Currently it is one of the most important tourist places in Kerala, with a wide and beautiful beach.
Actually Gama landed at port of panthalayani, that is some 6km away from kappad.

Beypore Beach

The Beypore Beach is located in Calicut district. The Kozhikode Beypore Beach is a commercial center for ship building and has existed here for more than 100 years. This boatyard is famous for making a distinctive ship vessel known as 'Uru'. Beypore, one of the prominent ports and fishing harbours of ancient Kerala was an important trade and maritime centre. Ancient Beypore was much sought after by merchants from Western Asia, for its ship building industry.

Kozhikode Beach (Calicut)

Kozhikode Beach is a favourite haunt of sunset viewers. The beach has an old lighthouse and two crumbling piers running into the sea, each more than a one hundred and twenty five years old.Children can be entertained at the Lions Park and the Marine Water Aquarium.  It was here at Kappad that Vasco Da Gama landed in his search for the spices of the Orient. If you are lucky, you might catch a glimpse of dolphins out in the sea by the Dolphin Point in the far distance.
Close to the beach is the popular lions park with good play facilities for children. You can also visit the marine aquarium that is situated near by. The Dish KALLUMAKAYA ( MUSSELS ) which specialty of the region


Padinharekara Beach (Padinjarekara Beach)

Padinharekara Beach is located at malapuram District . Nestled near Ponnani, lying at the end of Tipu Sultan road, Padinharekara Beach offers the picturesque view of the merging of River Bharathapuzha and river Tirur puzha with the Arabian Sea. It is also called Padinjarekara Beach.
The Padinharekara Beach has stretches of clear white sands bordered by rows of elegant palm trees. 

Ponnani Beach

Ponnani Beach is located at malapuram district and also one of the oldest port in kerala. It once served an important role as a centre of trade for the Portuguese, the British and Arab merchants. Historically, this town is significant for its role in the spread of the Islamic religion throughout the region.
This is an important fishing centre and the only port in the district.During the month of February/April thousands of migratory birds arrive here. Biyyan Kayal is located very close to Ponnani a placid green – fringed waterway plenty of water sport facility. The 600-year- old jama at Mosque is an important pilgrim centre of the Muslims of Kerala and has given Ponnani the name, the Mecca of the East.

Thaur beach is located in Malapuram District .Tanur has witnessed one of the earliest settlements of the Portuguese. It is believed that St. Francis Xavier visited Tanur in 1546 AD.About 3 km south of Tanur town is Keraladeshpuram Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and believed to be one of the oldest temples in Kerala.

Nattika Beach

The great Malayalam movie chemmeen was shot here,  which won the Presidential Award for the first Malayalam film, was shot. The memories of Karuttamma and Pareekutty still linger in this beach.
