Paithal hills

Paithal Hill is situvated in sreekandapuram ,which is 65 km from Kannur District, Kerala and 4500 m above from the sea level .

The finest hill station is awaiting you for a memorable experience. It is a location of exotic beauty of unpolluted ranges of the Western Ghats. What's more this natural holiday spot has become the most sought after destination for eco tourism, in Kerala and attracts thousands of foreigners and travelers. Paithalmala, painted in every shade of green imaginable and nestled in the bounties of nature, exudes an overwhelming calm and peace.
These huge mountains lay spread over 500 acres of land enriched with dense forest. The easiest access to the summit is from a place called Kappimala. One can go by bus up to Kappimala (kaappi-mala) and then a bumpy jeep ride of two kilometers through the “muttatham-vayal” mountain till the forest border at “Manja-pullu”. A two (2) km trekking through the forest will then take you to the summit.
