Kappil beach and backwaters

Kappil is the north-west border town of Thiruvananthapuram district. It is located in Edava Panchayat at the cost of Arabian Sea, near Varkala.  It is on the border between Thiruvananthapuram District and Kollam Districts, and five kilometers from the famous Varkala beach.

The Kappil beach and backwaters, at the confluence of sea, river and backwater.The beach, despite being a favourite destination of tourists, both domestic and foreign, who prefer privacy, is yet to get requisite facilities and attention from the tourism authorities and the local bodies.Kappil is a favourite place of the National Cadet Corps and regular parasailing and adventure water sports activities are held there. The Priyadarshini Boat Club, functioning under the Thiruvananthapuram District Tourism Promotion Council, offers boating on the backwaters.
